Xion Mini vs Xion S

on August 29, 2022

The Xion Mini has been released this year (2022) and is the little sister of the Xion S. But what exactly are the differences? When do you choose the Xion S and when the Xion Mini. Thirza Dekker compares the two machines with each other and shares her findings below.

Xion s

The Xion S is one of the most versatile PMU devices that are available, including because we can change the battle wheels (1.8 / 2.5 / 3.2 / 3.7) and thus work with a different battle length. By opening the PMU pen, loosening the screw with a screwdriver that you get as standard, and changing the wheel you can easily change. You can adjust the Xion S permanent makeup machine for tattoos, for example. When you order the Xion S, a stroke of 1.8 and 2.5 is included as standard.

With the Xion S you can also manually change the battle hardness (softer or harder), the Xion Mini does not have this function.

PMU specialists, narrow light pens are used to worldwide. Despite the versatility and strength for precision work of the Xion S, there are specialists who found the thickness and weight of the Xion S difficult to control.Microbeau Continue continuously develops her machines and took it to heart. She therefore made a more compact version of the Xion S. This way specialists can still work with the Xion, but in a smaller, lighter version of it.

Xion Mini

The weight of the Xion Mini is 88 grams, the Xion S 130 grams. Both machines use a universal RCA connection and have universal needle connections.

The Xion Mini has one stroke option, a short stroke of 2.5 mm.

The Xion S has a variable stroke, so you can also medically pigment, such as Areola (areola) but you can also put tattoos with it.

The Xion Mini has a short/soft blow that you can use to do all the facial work without any problems.

"The more compact the machine, the more manageable. If it is longer and heavier, it can influence the movement if you don't have a strong hand."

Both PMU machines have a specially designed by Darklab 6 Watt -patented engine that has a constant supply and virtually no vibration.

You can adjust the power of the Xion Mini via an app (Darklab app) internally, not manually in contrast to the Xion S. You can adjust it manually. This means that you can adjust the battle of the wheel so that it is softer or harder.

Please note, the battle has nothing to do with the speed of your machine. The voltage for PMU is on average between 5 & 7.

QUALITY

The quality of both permanent make-up devices is the same and they are both simply great.

Are you looking for a good PMU pen, slightly thicker than you are used to, but compact, small and light, then the Xion Mini is definitely recommended. Do you want slightly more universal PMU machine with more options because you also want to pigment medically? If you do not suffer from weight, size and price, I recommend the Xions. This machine has just a little more options. What is of course great that you can use universal needles on both machines.

I already mentioned the app for the Xion Mini. As a nice extra, the mini Siri speech control has options and you can change the Darklab app via Bluetooth (currently only available for iOS). In all honesty I don't have to use here myself. The Xion Mini can be used for all my PMU treatments with the settings as I received it.

Conclusion

I switch from one machine to the other. Personally for my hand on a mature skin I prefer to grab the Xion Mini. But for a younger lady or an eyeliner, for example, I find the Xion S again in the hand.

Personally, I find both devices top and if possible I advise you to purchase both of them so that you can alternate. After all, it is nice to have a family. 🤪 What's Next?

Greetings Thirza!
